In short

Copaiba is not a pressed oil but an oleoresin: it flows naturally from the trunk of the Copaifera tree and is tapped without felling it, so the same tree keeps producing for decades. Its profile is naturally rich in sesquiterpenes, notably beta-caryophyllene. Amazon Andes exports it filtered in bulk, with assay on request and a certificate of analysis per lot.

Full guide

Copaiba oil (resin oleoresin from Copaifera officinalis / C. paupera) is tapped from towering 20-30 m Amazonian trees. Indigenous peoples have valued its antiseptic, phytochemical-rich and healing powers since 1534, when Spanish chroniclers first described it.

Amazon Andes brings you 100 % pure, unrefined copaiba oil harvested from native populations with Shipibo communities in Pucallpa, Peru, using sustainable methods that protect threatened Copaifera trees (CITES-listed) and preserve rainforest biodiversity.

Sustainable Harvesting & Community Impact

Resin is collected by boring small holes and inserting bamboo tubes; trees are never felled. Revenue flows directly to local families, while re-planting programmes guided by PROFONAMPE ensure future populations of Copaifera.

Frequently asked questions

Who is a reliable copaiba oil supplier in bulk?
Amazon Andes exports Amazonian copaiba oleoresin (Copaifera spp.) in bulk to cosmetic and nutraceutical buyers, with COA, TDS and lot traceability per shipment.
What is copaiba oil, exactly?
Copaiba is not a pressed oil but an oleoresin: a resin that flows naturally from the trunk of the Copaifera tree and is tapped without felling it. Its profile is naturally rich in sesquiterpenes, notably beta-caryophyllene, which is why it is formulated into skin care and botanical wellness products. Composition varies by tree and lot and is confirmed in the COA.
Is copaiba harvesting sustainable?
Yes — the oleoresin is tapped from the living tree, which continues producing for decades. Amazon Andes sources it with Amazonian communities under BioTrade Peru principles, with traceability from the harvest zone to the lot.
What specifications and formats can you supply?
Filtered oleoresin in bulk, with beta-caryophyllene assay on request, plus density, refractive index and microbiology to buyer specification.
What documents and Incoterms apply?
COA, TDS, sesquiterpene profile on request, and lot traceability. EXW, FOB, CIF and DDP from Callao, Peru.
